I´m a learner, not just a leader
Self-promotion will lead to your demotion, don’t try to elbow yourself ahead in ministry, don’t try to be a big leader, be a big learner. After all, what matters most to Jesus is whether we truly love him and have a heart for people and follow His lead. When you feel called to five-fold ministry you need to trust Him, and do the little things that are in front of you. Share Jesus with people, heal the sick and cast devils out of people. You will never get worn out or be in danger of having unrealistic expectations if you understand that this whole thing is about serving. Freely you have received, freely you need to give.
When you have a chance to meet men and woman of God, don’t talk about your little life for 1-2 hours but rather ask questions and be teachable.
When you get opportunities be mindful of what God wants you to do.
I remember some time ago I had an opportunity to minister before a very famous evangelist but I had already an appointment set up to minister at a small pentecostal church. I knew that in that situation it was more important to God to stick to my word and minister at the small church, so I declined the other opportunity. It wasn’t a big sacrifice for me because I saw clearly the priority. I’m not moved by the size of an opportunity, I’m led by the Spirit of God. A few months later I got invited to minister at a much larger event.
I´m not saying you should neglect God-opportunities, when He opens doors for you - walk through them. But have a greater passion for loyalty instead of an opportunistic spirit.
Whenever God starts to use us here and there a little bit - may we implement it as a spiritual discipline to be be purposefully aware of the truth and to remind ourselves often…that it is not about us at all. I’ve seen the power of Jesus on a consistent basis. You will face rejection for that, because all ministries that are explosive in nature and have expressions of power in them, will face persecution, one way or another. But its not the end of the world, you can learn to rejoice in the midst of it by having your mind renewed on a constant basis.
It is also true that when God gives us big opportunities it is not because He likes us more than other people, He does it because He loves the people around us so much.
Be a learner - a disciple of Jesus, someone who is committed to learn, observe, obey and do the Word of God and have a passion for growth
But be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth]. James 1:22
BLESSED (HAPPY, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the man who walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly [following their advice, their plans and purposes], nor stands [submissive and inactive] in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down [to relax and rest] where the scornful [and the mockers] gather.
But his delight and desire are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night. Psalm 1:1-3
