HOW TO KNOW FOR SURE THAT YOU ARE SAVED
HOW TO KNOW FOR SURE THAT YOU ARE SAVED
Many people question their own salvation and are not 100% sure whether they are truly saved. I understand that the enemy wants to sow doubts into peoples lives so that some people who are saved may end up questioning their salvation. That is one side of the issue and you need to learn to live above the accusers voice.
However, I believe we can also make the mistakes telling people “You are saved” when in fact it is much more important for an individual to have that inner witness of the Holy Spirit for themselves, instead of us trying to doctrinally convince them of something in order to get something into their heads.
Remember that this is no small matter here but it is about where someone will spend his or her eternity, I never just assume that someone is saved because he has a church membership or not even if he were to be the chairman of a denomination.
I know without a shadow of a doubt that I am saved, if a hundred people would tell me something else it wouldn’t affect me, because my internal world speaks louder and what I hear externally has to pass the test against the word which has already implemented into my soul
So, when you accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior I am sure that you have an inner witness that you are a child of God and as you walk with Him, I believe the ultimate and first and foremost proof of our salvation by which we can “judge ourselves” is found in 1 John 3:14
“We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death.”
I believe the second hint is that you have a passion for growth to be conformed more and more into the image of Jesus, what I don’t mean by that is pressuring yourself or trying to live under the law but rather understanding that you are in constant need of Him and that although it is true that you are complete in Him (Col. 2:10), you have not arrived.
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” John 1:12
“The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.” Romans 8:16
“Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” James 1:21-22
